Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Club Ice?
Club Ice is ice time reserved specifically by our figure skating club for its members. It is designed to support skaters at all levels with structured practice opportunities outside of standard Freestyle sessions.

2. How is Club Ice different from Freestyle sessions?
Club Ice is reserved and paid for by the club in advance through a seasonal contract. It allows us to secure consistent afternoon ice slots. Freestyle sessions are typically drop-in and shared with the general skating community, with no guarantee of availability or consistency.

3. Why is Club Ice more expensive than Freestyle sessions?
Club Ice is more expensive because the club must commit to purchasing the ice in advance in order to secure valuable afternoon slots. Without this commitment, those times could be lost or reallocated. Afternoon ice is especially critical for skaters transitioning from Learn to Skate to competitive training—these athletes often aren’t ready for early morning sessions and need consistent after-school ice time to continue progressing.

4. Does the Club make money on Club Ice?
No. The club does not profit from Club Ice. In fact, we budget and plan to lose money on this offering each season. We provide it because we believe in supporting all levels of skaters—especially younger, developing athletes who rely on this critical ice time. Please help us continue offering it by contracting at least one day if you’re able.

5. What happens if we don’t contract Club Ice?
If we don’t secure enough contracts, we risk losing the afternoon ice entirely. This would significantly affect our ability to support skaters who need structured after-school practice as they begin competitive training.

6. How can I support the Club’s afternoon ice time?
You can help by contracting at least one day of Club Ice for the season. Even a single contracted day helps us reach the minimum requirement to keep the ice and supports the growth of the club’s skaters.

8. What are the benefits of contracting Club Ice?

-
Guaranteed access to consistent afternoon ice time
-
A supportive training environment exclusive to our members
-
Option to carry over unused punches from year to year (with full-season contracts)
-
Supporting the continued growth and success of our club's youngest and most promising skaters

9. Is Club Ice right for my skater?
If your skater is beginning private lessons or competing, and morning ice doesn’t work for your family, then yes—Club Ice is a great fit. Afternoon access is often essential during the early stages of competitive training.

10. What happens if my schedule changes mid year
If your circumstances change and you need to switch dates for the remainder of the season, let us know and we will work with you on a solution that fits your family.

11. What happens if I can’t make it to my contracted session one week?

We have built in 2 sessions that you can miss without incurring a financial loss. For this reason, there will be NO MAKE UP sessions.

12. When should I sign up?
Sign up as soon as possible! If you register before August 31st, you’ll receive a special discount—5 sessions free with a full-season contract for one day, or 20 sessions free with a full season contract for the full week.
