Nana's Scholarship

The Jan Fenton Memorial Skating Fund

On January 22, 2015, Jan Fenton passed away from an unexpected illness she could not beat. Many people knew her from her unending chatter, the British accent and her absolute love for figure skating. She knew no strangers and lived life to the fullest. People often saw her skating at the area ice rinks with her granddaughter, Alexis and were charmed by her enthusiasm and joy while on the ice.

To honor Jan’s life and her passion for skating, her family has created a memorial skating fund.  Funds collected for The Jan Fenton Memorial Skating Fund will be used to pay for a Crystal Award and Club Ice Scholarship. â€‹

If you would like to apply for the Scholarship:

See the Nana's Fund Scholarship Announcement below for details on how to apply.

If you would like to donate to support a skater in memory of Jan:

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to this memorial skating fund. We hope to offer this scholarship as an annual award.

2025 Announcement

“Every movement in skating is a brushstroke on the canvas of the ice” – Ilia Kulik

Falling in line with this year’s theme of big changes for the club, we have reimagined the framework of Nana’s Fund to recognize additional talents. Going forward, we will be rotating the submission request from year to year between writing, art, photography, and potentially other categories of creative expression.

This year, Nana’s Fund is looking for original artwork centered around and reflective of our sport. We invite our young creators to showcase expressions of their love of figure skating through art on the canvas using their imagination and creativity.
