Congrats Moorea!

As many have already heard we had exciting news coming out of Strongsville, Ohio home of National Showcase 2016 - the National Competition for Theatrical Skating. Silver Blades Moorea Long and Gabby Rock both represented Silver Blades at this year's National Showcase event along with several Kansas City Figure Skating Club members - 9 skaters in all from our area - competing with a total of 538 skaters from across the United States and Canada.
Moorea ultimately earned the top title of champion in the Junior Parade of Champions - first winning her initial flight to advance to the finals, then winning the finals for her event level, and moving on to the Junior Parade of Champions. It is there that she skated away with a top place finish to become the overall winner with her "Goldie the Gold Fish" routine - loved by all who have seen her perform it. Additionally, she received the Haley Gans "Skate With All Your Heart" trophy that is given to the skater with the most creative routine. She will be recognized in the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame in Colorado and look for a feature on National Showcase in the upcoming issue of USFS "Skating" magazine.
We are proud of both our members who represented us so well - and a special congratulations to Moorea on this HUGE accomplishment!
Congratulations Moorea!
