Welcome to Silver Blades FSC of Kansas City

Silver Blades FSC of KC is an active and energetic figure skating club with members throughout the Greater Kansas City area.  Our mission is to be a leader in the sport and art of figure skating by challenging each member to achieve one’s highest potential and personal goals.  As part of this mission we support our members with coordination of Club Ice, Training Classes and Testing sessions as well as access to various seminars and social activities throughout the year.  We host the Heart of America Invitational Competition each year open to skaters across the country and we are a member club of the Midwest Figure Skating Council.

In Memory Janet Fenton

With the sudden and unexpected passing of Jan on January 22, 2015 our local skating community lost a strong supporter, enthusiastic admirer, and fellow skater. She loved the sport and still went out and skated whenever she could and so many will miss her. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund is being created at Central Bank of the Midwest that will help local skaters with the cost of ice time for training. You can submit a donation online using the below Silver Blades Intuit PayNow Button, noting in the Invoice/Reference# that your contribution is for the "Nana's Skating Scholarship Fund", and the funds will be transfered to her Memorial Account:

Alternately, you can drop a check payable to "Nana's Skating Scholarship Fund" in the Silver Blades Mailbox at the rink.

Junior Club consists of group instruction geared toward advanced group class skaters and club skaters looking for additional instruction as well as review and refinement of their skills. Each session will consist of 30 minutes, of which the first half will be instruction by Silver Blades coaches and the second half will be a short monitored freestyle session for Junior Club participants only, focused on introducing skaters to freestyle session rules and ettiquite- helping both new and younger freestyle skaters be more comfortable, safe and productive on a freestyle session. The cost is $5 per session for non-members and free for Silver Blades members. Please contact Shelley Fenton at This email address is being protected from spambots. Freestyle Sessions are at no charge to all Silver Blades Home Club and Associate members on a first come first served basis, with a priority given to Home Club members. There is a limit of 26 skaters on a session. Pairs skating is not allowed on this freestyle ice. Coaches of Silver Blades members are welcome to coach such members on this freestyle ice at no charge.

Program Ice will also be at no charge to all Silver Blades Home Club and Associate members and will give a preference to Home Club Members and otherwise will be on a first signed up basis. Sign ups will be through Sign Up Genius and will be taken until the session is filled. If a skater has two pieces of music, the 2nd piece will only be played if all others who have signed up have been allotted a time slot. When signing up you will need to give the length of each piece of music so we can properly allocate time slots to skaters. All music will need to be submitted on a CD.
